MEET JADZIA.
Hello, my name is Jadzia, and I’m a Kiwi from New Zealand who grew up in the Marlborough Sounds, surrounded by native forests and coastline. Despite my flightless beginnings, I somehow managed to put my wings to use and have recently travelled across the globe to visit London and the rest of Europe.
I’ve been painting for as long as I can remember. While many other hobbies and passions have come and gone, art has been the one constant in my life. When I sit down with a brush, pen or pencil, I seem to slip into a flow state that few other things in life have ever been able to replicate.
Outside of art, I’m also a passionate scuba diver, outdoor enthusiast, foodie and travel bug, with a deep-rooted sense of wanderlust.
I feel like I’m always somewhere between places... travelling, trying new things, picking up new hobbies and exploring as much of the world as I possibly can. I’m endlessly curious about the places, people and cultures I encounter, and the small details that make somewhere feel unique. My paintings are often a reflection of that curiosity, inspired by the things that catch my eye along the way.
Colour is at the heart of my work and my goal is to create paintings that feel vibrant, energetic and a little surreal. In a world where so many cities can feel increasingly grey and monotonous, I want my work to do the opposite... to bring life, joy and vibrancy back into the spaces we inhabit.
I’m particularly interested in getting up close to my subjects and creating work that is recognisable, but invites you to look a little longer at the details. Ultimately, I paint the things that excite me, with the hope that they might make someone else stop, look and feel something too.
